The technology of the future will be the bio-refining of biomass. All types of biomass from the land and sea will be needed to feed the world population and provide us all with products (chemicals) as well as energy, much like around 100 years ago, when the oil-refinery sector emerged to extract and produce today over 10,000 products from fossil fuels. We are in the early phase of this emerging technology of the bio-refining of biomass. The technological developments in this field will benefit from frontrunners like GOA-Ventures, with its goal of bio-refining seaweed.
