Seaweed Pioneers

Are you a Biotechnology student (m/f/x) who likes to think outside the box? GOA Ventures offers internship positions (5–6 months) for an enthusiastic BSc or MSc student. In our patented process, we isolate functional protein for human consumption from seaweed, and the remaining biomass is converted into biogas. In this way, we can produce sustainable food and energy without using land or fresh water. As GOA Ventures is a startup, you will work closely with your colleagues, gain insight into what happens at all levels of the company, and have the opportunity to make a real impact.

Currently, there are no specific internship projects available. However, we are always open to connect with motivated students and explore the creation of a new project. Possible topics include protein extraction and purification, protein functionality and the analysis of other valuable seaweed components. However, we are open to taking your specific interests and goals into account.

Candidate profile

We are looking for someone with several (or all) of the following qualities:

> A hands-on mindset
> Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
> Knowledge of biochemistry / downstream processing /                       biotechnology / food technology
> Currently following BSc or MSc programme
> Laboratory experience; able to work safely and accurately
> Ability to report clearly (in English)
> Passionate about developing sustainable technology
> Enthusiastic about working in a new, growing industry (seaweed!)

What we offer

For 5-6 month internship projects, we offer an internship allowance of €500 per month. Our internship projects are full-time only.
